From Addis Ababa to Delaware, and from Vietnam to El Salvadore, FCCOC is privileged to partner with God in many uttermost parts of the world. This Lord’s Day we do more than give lip service to the Great Comission. We recommit ourselves to the work of world evangelism, commemorating our annual Mission Sunday.
Proverbs 31:16 describes the rare and noble woman in this way: “She considers a field and buys it; out of her earnings she plants a vineyard.” So too does our church, the bride of Christ in Falls Church, carefully invest in missionary fields around the world, planting seeds of the gospel in places that need it most. We await the harvest of a glorious vintage, even as we pray to the Lord of the harvest (cf. Mat. 9:38).
During the service we will highlight the incredible work of the missionaries and ministries we support, women and men who are spreading the love of Christ and bringing transformation to communities worldwide. Mission Sunday is an opportunity to hear stories of impact, pray for our mission partners and reflect on how each of us can prayerfully and materially contribute to this global effort. Let’s renew our commitment to making disciples of all nations as we reflect on the faithful stewardship of our resources and our role in God’s global mission.
