In Romans 12, Paul talks about how the church works like a body. Different parts, different roles, but all connected. Nobody’s job is unimportant. One person teaches. Another encourages. Someone else serves in the background. All of it matters.
Worship takes a group effort every week. There are prayers to be led, Scriptures to be read, microphones to be turned on, guests to be welcomed, kids to be looked after, communion to be served, and words to be spoken. Some of these roles happen up front. Others behind the scenes. But none of them happen without people willing to step up.
Right now, we especially need help with serving communion. It’s simple: four brothers, each Sunday, pass the trays. No spotlight, no speech. Just presence. A bit of coordination, a bit of attentiveness. That’s it. And it means more than you probably realize—that’s how it is in the kingdom of God.
More opportunities to help are listed in a Google Doc. You can find a link to the document by scanning the QR code in the bulletin or the slides that show before worship each week, clicking the link in the Early Edition email, or contacting the office. Dates are available through the 2nd quarter of 2025. You can sign up for prayers, readings, announcements, or communion.
Also, someone has to prepare communion each week. It usually takes 30 minutes or so, and you can do it early Sunday morning or sometime before during the week. There’s a sign-up sheet in the foyer for that.
So—if you’re willing, we’d love for you to be part of the team. Think about it.
Like Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians: “There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord… and in everyone it is the same God at work.”
Let’s help each other worship well.
